課程目標 Learning Objectives
|
課程旨在幫助同學了解新聞結構與新聞分析，目標在增進學生新聞字彙量及閱讀理解力，具批判思考國內與國際新聞議題的訓練。
The purposes of this are to familiarize students with conventions of English news and to develop the ability to analyze news. Students will learn news vocabulary, become familiar with news genres, and have the opportunity to apply critical thinking to news issues locally and globally.
1.使學生熟悉新聞結構。
2.使學生掌握新聞閱讀之技巧。
3.使學生具能以批判思考討論新聞議題之能力。
This course aims to

成績評量方式補充說明
|
1. 上課須準時，不可遲到早退，公/病/事/喪/生理假皆依校規程序請假，否則以曠課計，每學期請假缺曠時數請勿多於11小時，以免被扣考。
2. 出席狀況計算方式：全勤 100分，曠課一節扣10分，病/事/生理假一節扣5分，被扣考皆以0分計算。
3. 上課時手機請設定為飛航模式或靜音震動，不可使用手機通話。
Distribution of Assignments:
1. Weekly news journal (10%):
Watch CNN, BBC, or Formosa TV English News OR read New York Times, The Taipei Times, the Taiwan News, or any other well-known news website every week. Keep a news reading journal to list 2 current news (1 global and 1 domestic) with the sources/websites. Type a brief summary of each news in your words and your thoughts/comments. Upload to e-course every week until you have submitted 10.
2. News sharing report: written & oral (10% each)
Each student has to share news he/she has read as an oral report in class. The instructions will be announced later.
