課程目標 Learning Objectives

課程旨在幫助同學了解新聞結構與新聞分析，目標在增進學生新聞字彙量及閱讀理解力，具批判思考國內與國際新聞議題的訓練。
The purposes of this are to familiarize students with conventions of English news and to develop the ability to analyze news. Students will learn news vocabulary, become familiar with news genres and to have the opportunity to apply critical thinking to news issues locally and globally.
1.使學生熟悉新聞結構。
2.使學生掌握新聞閱讀之技巧。
3.使學生具能以批判思考討論新聞議題之能力。

課堂要求
1. 上課須準時，不可遲到早退，公/病/事/喪/生理假皆依校規程序請假，否則以曠課計，每學期請假缺曠時數請勿多於11小時，以免被扣考(曠課一節=請假三節!!!）。出席狀況計算方式：全勤 100分，曠課一節扣5分，病/事/生理假一節扣2分，至0分爲止。
2. 上課時手機請設定為飛航模式或靜音震動，不可使用手機通話。
3. 課前請事先預習，並準時繳交作業。作業及小考於考前一週上課時宣佈，當週請務必出席小考，一律不得補考或遲交作業，亦不得作弊或抄襲。
評量方式與評分比例分配
1.Attendance 出席狀況 20%
2.Participation/In-Class Assignments (Google forms 30% & individual oral reports on current news 10%) 課堂參與/作業 40%
3.Midterm & Final Exams 40% (20% each)
