課程目標   Learning Objectives
This course will not only strengthen students' current knowledge in language
acquisition theory but also provide them with the opportunities to test related
hypotheses. The language acquisition theory includes the five most related domains
(PLACE): people, language, attention, cognition, and emotion, is important to various
areas of study, such as education, linguistics, psychology, philosophy, communication
disorders and computer science. As such, this course is critical in preparing students
to pursue advanced study in major factors related to language acquisition and how
teachers may deal with the problems and try to come out with solutions.

2018 Final report
Four people are in a group. Choose 4 case examples, one is about a child’s learning language experience, others should be related to three different SLA theory. 16 minutes of presentation is set for a group. You should focus on the language learning process and add your own reflection on it. Each person needs to talk about one part in about 4 minutes long. Show your ideas in the ppt for the class on June 26th. Print out your ppt and word file to the teacher. Send ppt & word file to the teacher. You may download all materials of all the groups of your class into a VCD to the teacher.

Guidelines of doing the paper
The paper should be related to the factors which influence learners' second language acquisition. You may find references in journals, website, Internet. You may find more references when you have more writers for the paper. You can also include your own personal experience of learning the foreign language. Write the paper with 12 point, double-space, about four to five pages long in English for one writer and may be longer. (e.g., you may observe a child (children) (students) learning mother tongue
(English) and record the process for at least 30 or one class hour (40 or 50 minutes), including all the transcription, the film, the discussion, the reflection, etc. into a DVD and also hand in the written copy of the paper on the assigned day of the semester.
