課程目標 Learning Objectives

A third-year writing course is essentially an advanced grammar and writing lesson. We tackle the key grammatical and lexical elements learners need to become successful academic writers. This course aims to help students develop English language skills in paragraphs of different genres.

1. Students will have a wide variety of editing activities to refine their academic writing and improve accuracy.
2. Students will develop the ability to think critically in written English on different topics such as global issues, economics, and the environment.
3. Students will learn how to find resources to enrich the content of their compositions.
4. Students will significantly foster corpus-informed vocabulary and use it in student writing.
5. Students will emphasize the most common errors found in student writing.

6. 期中末缺考任一次將可能無法認列學分，且課堂出席率(0)與學習態度 (0) 兩項成績，也將有可能無法完全認列。

評分相關規定
1. Do not use illegal copies of textbooks for this course. (不可以使用盜版書籍)
2. Don’t cheat in quizzes or exams, otherwise, you will be punished based on school rules and
you will get 0 score for the quiz or exam.
(禁止課堂上小考及期中末考作弊,否則會依校規處罰, 成績為0分計算)
3. Students do not have make-up quizzes unless with legitimate and reasonable
reasons. You must have a make-up quiz one week after the planned
quiz. If a student can not come to the course for several weeks with normal letters,
he or she will have make-up quizzes or other alternatives. Based on
fairness of the other students, you will get a discount of 30 percentage off for the grade of
each make-up quizzes.
(For the mid-term exam and final exam leaves and make-up exam application, students need to
follow the school policy.)
