課程目標 Learning Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of phonetics and enhance students’ knowledge of English phonetics. Students will learn technical terms required for describing speech and transcription symbols. By understanding the concept of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), students will be able to represent the sounds of speech and use IPA to transcribe speeches. This course also helps students to understand basic concepts and terminology in phonetics and phonology.
