課程目標   Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the development of Western drama, exploring the evolution of theater from Ancient Greece and Rome to the modern era. The course will focus on dramatic works, playwrights, performance styles, and the development of theatrical aesthetics, examining how these elements reflect and influence the social and cultural contexts in which they exist. Students will learn to critically analyze Western drama, utilizing historical and cultural knowledge to interpret and understand the deeper meanings of theatrical works. In addition, the course will cultivate students' practical abilities in drama creation, directing, performance and theater production through reading original plays, observing video materials and group discussions, and stimulate their inspiration and creativity in using knowledge of theater history in the creative process.

期中報告與期末呈現:不強制使用英文進行,但若以英文報告或呈現,將酌情加分。
Midterm and Final Presentations: English is not mandatory for reports or presentations. However, using English will be rewarded with extra credit.

分組呈現評分:小組成績將依據整體表現與個人貢獻綜合評定,請各組在報告與呈現時,詳細說明分工內容。
Group Presentation Grading: Group scores will be assessed based on overall team performance and individual contributions. Each group must specify the division of tasks in both reports and presentations.

出席規定:課程將實施點名或簽到並保留出席記錄,請同學準時出席,遲到二十分鐘視同該堂曠課。
Attendance Policy: Attendance will be recorded through roll call or sign-in sheets. Students are required to attend on time and stay for the entire class.
