有機化學是研究碳化物的化學，所有的有機體都是由有機化合物所組成，所有的有機化合物都含有碳元素。本課程由結構與鍵結開始介紹，以官能基為主，從最簡單的烯進行到較複雜的化合物，同時強調基礎反應機構，使學生瞭解所有常見的反應機構及反應機構的價值。
