課程目標 Learning Objectives
|
|
This course provides an overview of the history of the English language from its Indo-European origins to the present time. It will introduce students to the internal and external historical events that have influenced the development of the English language. Particular attention will be given to the various linguistic changes (sound, meaning, word form, word order, and lexicon) at different periods, including the Old English, the Middle English, and the Modern English periods.
