課程目標   Learning Objectives
In this course, students will learn to orally translate from English into Chinese, and vice versa, written sentences and texts while reading them. Since in sight translation one needs to be efficient in changing modes from reading (written input) to producing speech (verbal output), students are expected to gradually develop strategies that are conducive to comprehension of textual information which include the ability to think ahead, read through and beyond the surface of the text, as well as taking into account other cultural elements in both the source language input and target language output. Emphasis will also be placed upon fostering students’ concentration and attention while they deal with specific oral translation tasks at hand.
