課程目標 Learning Objectives
|
The purpose of this course is to provide students a foundation for understanding basic technical skills needed to analyze business transactions, financial statements and disclosures for use in financial analysis. Students will also learn how accounting standards and managerial incentives affect the financial reporting process. Related implications to business practices are also included in the class discussions. Through graded assignments, quizzes, term projects, midterm and final exams, students should gain an appreciation for the current status of practices on financial accounting.

Students’ understanding will be assessed through a variety of tasks, including graded assignments, quizzes, term project, midterm, and a final exam. The instructor’s main role will be to facilitate the implementations of these activities and provide constant guidance along each step of the way. The final grade will be based on the following four components. 1. Regular class participation (10%) 2. Graded assignments (20%) 3. Quizzes (20%) 4. Mid-term and Final Exams (30%) 5.
